Finally...something to be EXCITED about!

The one thing I've been most excited about wedding-wise is the honeymoon (well, being married won't be so bad either)--and I'm happy to report that Ian and I have officially made our plans.
First we thought we'd go to Greece (someday when we have more time to travel, perhaps), then we thought we'd take a trip to Macchu Picchu or ancient Mayan country (but the company we'd planned to go with just went out of business last week), and now, we've finally made a decision.
We're going to Mexico. Specifically, Mexican wine country. Last night we were going over all of the places I'd found on the Internet and read about in magazines and books, and we stumbled upon La Ville del Valle -- a resort in Mexican wine country. It sounds incredible: horseback riding, beaches, wineries, bocce, high-speed Internet (woot!), hiking, shopping...and in a beautiful area. We're going to fly to San Diego, spend the night, and then rent a car to drive to the resort.
Out of sheer coincidence, after we'd already made our decision, Ian found out that the NY Times published an article about Mexican wine country--this past Sunday. We have let our weekend subscription lapse (and I miss it!), but we hadn't been reading it regularly, so finding this story was what solidified our choice for us. I can't wait.

I'm not sure -- it depends on the shipping costs, because I think we're not allowed to bring liquids on the plane with us, and checking a box packed with bottles of wine is never a good idea. The baggage handlers are called "throwers" for a reason...
