I hate to say it, but Christmas really is just around the corner. I got a copy of Lotta Jansdotter's
Simple Sewing a few months ago, but with the craziness of
wedding planning,
honeymooning, moving, and learning how not to get lost in my new city, I haven't had time to really go through it until now--and I'm happy to report that Lotta's patterns will be making a large appearance in the gifts my friends and family receive from me this holiday season, especially the totes and handbags. That is, if I can decide which fabric from
Repro Depot or
Purl to use...
On a slightly related note, (related because I've decided my first return attempt to sewing will be Lotta's yoga tote), I've also newly reconnected with yoga, along with most of the girls I work with, so I was also thrilled to find
this catalog in my mailbox yesterday. I am seriously coveting these
ballet flats, and there are several yoga-inspired pieces that I'm longing for before my next class. Unfortunately, my next class is tonight, so it's not looking good!
